The L'chaim Jewish Hospice Program serves the needs of our Jewish community
- all within a framework of Jewish values, customs, and traditions. In addition to
expert pain control and symptom management, the L'chaim Jewish Hospice Program provides staff trained in Jewish rituals and traditions that are sensitive to the special needs of people of Jewish faith.
Services:
The L'chaim Jewish Hospice Program employs an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care that includes: physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, specially trained volunteers, Rabbis, bereavement counselors as well as other therapists needed to care for the specific needs of each patient. Our caring team provides the most comprehensive and cost-effective array of services including:
• Physical care consisting of medical and nursing services.
• Medications, medical supplies and equipment.
• Pain control, symptom management as well as dietary guidance.
• Family education regarding patient care, medications and what to expect.
• Practical care such as bathing and assistance with daily activities.
• Assistance with insurance paperwork and other matters of financial concern.
• Availability of a Rabbi for spiritual and emotional support in accordance with the family's own belief
system.
• Professional grief counseling and support.
• Professional staff trained in Jewish rituals and traditions and sensitive
to the needs ofpeople of
Jewish faith.
• Additional services required to serve an individual's specific needs.
Coverage:
Hospice services provided by the L'chaim Jewish Hospice Program are covered by most insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid, under a special Hospice Benefit. Your insurance plan, Medicare or Medicaid pay hospice directly for services provided. Patients do not process complicated paperwork.
