14th Annual Swinging “FORE” Charity
Golf Tournament
Miami, FL— August 3, 2010— Catholic Hospice invites all golf enthusiasts to participate in their 14th Annual Swinging FORE Charity Golf Tournament. This event benefits the patients and families of Catholic Hospice. The tournament will take place on Friday, October 8th at 12:30 p.m. at the Shula’s Golf Club (7601 Miami Lakes Drive). The registration fee also includes a cocktail reception, awards ceremony and silent auction, following the tournament.
This event is a major fundraiser for Catholic Hospice, a not-for-profit healthcare organization providing end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and their families throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties. Catholic Hospice is dedicated to the preservation of the quality of life of people facing end of life issues. They provide pain control and symptom management, as well as spiritual and psychological support to over 450 patients and their bereaved families daily, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, ethnic background, handicap, diagnosis or financial resources. Catholic Hospice also sponsors programs such as the L’chaim Jewish Hospice Program, Stars Program a Hospice Care for children, Camp Hope, a bereavement camp for children as well as other bereavement support groups.
The tournament registration fee is $150 per player and $625 for a foursome. The fee includes lunch, beverages, greens fees, goody bag, shirt, cocktail reception and prizes. Catholic Hospice’s Volunteers Build A Better World
Miami, FL— April 14, 2010 —“Volunteers Build a Better World” is this year’s theme when Catholic Hospice salutes its 200 dedicated volunteers. A Luncheon to honor volunteers will be held at Jungle Island in Miami on May 1st at 11:30 a.m.
“Hospice volunteers are absolutely vital to fulfilling Catholic Hospice’s mission to care for patients with life-limiting illness, their families, and caregivers”, said Theresa Barbieri, Manager of Volunteer Services for Catholic Hospice. “With this Annual Luncheon, we honor our volunteers while raising awareness of hospice and palliative care and the reward that comes from volunteering.”
